This is what used to be the Rex Cinema. It's been converted to a bed & breakfast.

There's plenty of places here where you can learn or made to be pretty.

This is something that I thought that you don't find in KL anymore - a road side barber shop.

It's been here all along, but I never noticed it until now.

Among the early hotels in the area. The signage removed indicates that it's probably undergoing renovations or has been closed for good.

Petaling Street

The mobile police beat base is stationed here most days in the event you need any help.

The night market is popular not only among the locals but tourists as well.

A point to note is that many of the stalls are manned, not by local Malaysians, but by Bangladeshis, Myanmaris, Nepalis and etc.

Patrons come in all shapes, sizes and ages just like these two young shoppers seen here.

Venus Arts - about the only place where one could get art supplies in those days - still going strong.

Many of the shop fronts are completely invisible due to the stalls set up along the street.

I don't know what this is about as the night market has been around for as long as I can remember.

Some old shophouses were converted to this shopping centre.

I thought that it was a popular spot in the late 1980s early 1990s, but based on the outlets operating in the centre, it isn't so popular now. Maybe it's the location or maybe better choices are available now.

What used to be High Street Police Station is now the KL Head Quarters of our Traffic Police.

As a student in the early 1970s, I was a member of what was known as "The Young Friends of the Arts Council". I remember attending a play here once, but I don't remember what it was.

The sign says that it's the KL Cultural Garden but I haven't found out what the building holds these days.
