Brickfields 5

DBKL (KL City Hall) has an office here.

The Pines - a place where I used to visit with my friends in the late 1980s is still here.

One of the lesser known (at least in Malaysia) Orthodox Churches is here.

The Syriac Orthodox Church is an autocephalous Oriental Orthodox church based in the Middle East, with members spread throughout the world. It parted ways with Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism over the Council of Chalcedon in 451, which the Syriac Orthodox Church rejects. It is a major inheritor of Syriac Christianity and has Syriac, a dialect of Aramaic, as its official language. The church is led by the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch.

Theotokos is the Greek title of Mary, the mother of Jesus used especially in the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic Churches. Its literal English translations include God-bearer and the one who gives birth to God. Less literal translations include Mother of God. Roman Catholics, Anglicans, and some Protestants use the title Mother of God more often than Theotokos. The Council of Ephesus decreed in 431 that Mary is Theotokos because her son Jesus is one person who is both God and man, divine and human.

DBKL's Sports Club is located here.

La Salle Brickfields, which originated as a Catholic Mission School.

Our Lady of Fátima is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary with respect to reported apparitions of her to three shepherd children at Fátima in Portugal on the 13th day of six consecutive months in 1917, starting on 13 May.

The events at Fatima gained particular fame due to their elements of prophecy and eschatology, particularly with regard to possible world war and the conversion of Russia. The reported apparitions at Fatima were officially declared "worthy of belief" by the Catholic Church.

Even the ladder is in the form of a crucifix.

The main entrance.

The garland of jasmine flowers is a possible indication of the strong Indian influence on the Faithful in this area.

This condominium is named after the popular food court.

The famous Jalan Berhala, where the Buddhist Temple is.  (The Temple will be a later post all its own.)

This area even has a private school.  Below are some of the old apartments here.

I couldn't make out what this next one is, directly opposite the Buddhist Temple.
